FirstFounders Network: Empowering African Startups to Succeed

First Founders is a startup studio that collaborates with early-stage founders globally, both within and outside Africa, to develop some of the most promising ideas tailored for the African market.

David Lanre Messan, the founder and chief executive officer of The First Founders Inc. and TroggeUrban Limited, started as an idea strategist and evolved into a digital enterprise strategist, serial entrepreneur, startup advisor, and angel investor. He leads a business incubation center dedicated to accelerating tech startups in the retail and consumer sector by leveraging social capital and technology.

First Founders was established on March 17, 2020. It’s also known as First Founders Network, with its legal name being First Founders Inc. At First Founders, they allocate their resources to develop products/business ideas, create technological applications, secure capital, devise growth strategies, and offer the necessary mentorship and networks needed for realization.

In addition, First Founders Inc. offers programs specifically targeted at startups. This includes the Venture Booth program (TVB), providing assistance to founders whose ideas require technical, business, and mentorship help. Selected startups undergo an exclusive venture-building process. The support is free and does not require equity; instead, it helps create it.

Board members have been appointed to enhance the company’s focus on early-stage startups and strengthen innovation in entrepreneurship. These board members will support the venture studio’s mission to build and scale Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) of early-stage founders.

There has also been a recent collaboration with Insurance Meets Tech (IMT), serving as a nexus for early-stage startups in the insurance and insurtech sectors, connecting them with potential funding partners and seasoned mentors who can catalyze their growth and innovation.

FirstFounders aims to build, scale, and fund a community of 1,000 founders with Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) of early-stage founders by 2032, with 200 of these companies attaining unicorn status, and to support startups in Africa and assist early-stage entrepreneurs in launching successful startups through accelerated programs, community support, and access to resources.

As a founder, First Founders is dedicated to helping you develop your brand and your ideas. So, when you need help helping Africa, you know where to turn.
