The Future of Agriculture in AFRICA

Today, we will be spotlighting an amazing startup – one that has contributed a lot towards the growth of agriculture in Ghana and West Africa as a whole.

Farmerline Group was launched in 2013 by co-founders Alloysius Attah and Emmanuel Addai out of a desire to build something that would solve a basic need in their country: ‘increasing the productivity of farmers’.

In a world that needs to double productivity to feed itself by 2050, Farmerline’s objective is simple;

“Creating a chain whereby everyone prospers by producing more food, more profit and at large greater impact in the agricultural world.”

Alloysius and Emmanuel started Farmerline with as little as $600 and a mission:

Using technology as a tool to create lasting wealth, quality inputs, fair credits, ongoing trainings for local farmers and also increasing their market access and reach.

Over time, Farmerline has expanded towards working with hundreds of farmer associations and partners including a budding relationship with the government, which is geared towards providing a lasting solution for farmers in the agricultural sector.

It is important to note that Alloysuis and Emmanuel were young Africans like you and I, who discovered a gap\problem in the agricultural sector and did not wait for anyone, but rather set out to be ‘Solution Givers’. And now their story is a source of inspiration to us and many other young Africans either locally or in the diaspora; proof that we can do great things.
